The Deccan Odyssey transports you to an unforgettable
itinerary of a land covered by serene beaches and
magnificent forts & palaces. The train covers the 2,200 km
distance, it leaps through Konkan, Goa, Pune, Aurangabad,
Ajanta and Ellora, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri and Nashik in its
seven-day itinerary. Also Ganapatipule, known for its finest
beaches; Tarkali, a beautiful village on the shores of
Arabian Sea are included in this train journey. The lush,
resplendent interiors of the Deccan Odyssey, a joint venture
between the Indian Railways and the Maharashtra Tourism
Development Corporation , make it a gem studded in the crown
of Maharashtra. With its contemporary amenities like
air-conditioned restaurant, conference car, gym and business
center, the Deccan Odyssey flags off from the Chatrapati
Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai.
Not only accommodation, the Deccan Odyssey offers a separate
conference/meeting car known as 'Samvad' coach where you can
organise any small scale or large-scale business conference
within the train. The relaxation process of the travellers
can also be active through the massages, steam and sauna, in
the Spa car, running on the railway tracks. One can pamper
the taste buds and savor the culinary delicacies at the
restaurant cars named as Peshwa I and Peshwa II.
Salons and Coaches
The Deccan Odyssey offers 13 luxurious, palatious and fully
air-conditioned deluxe saloons, each a combination of 4 twin
bedded chambers. There is also a Presidental Suite with a
bedroom and a living room. The passengers are free to choose
from either of the Double bedded or Twin Bedded Rooms
available in the train. The amenities within the coaches
are: channel music, intercom, CD/MP3 player, attached
toilets, running hot and cold water, shower, wall to wall
carpeting and a complimentary bottle of wine.
Restaurant Cars
The two lavish restaurant cars Peshwa I and Peshwa II serve
the multi cuisines and the palatable food to make your
journey a gourmet's delight. A well stocked bar by the name
'Hi Mumbai' serves wine, liquor and spirits of Indian and
International Brands to keep you chilled while your journey.
Conference Car
The Conference Car named as 'Samvad', which implies
conversation in Hindi is well equipped with latest business
facilities and internet connectivity. A Business Center is
also available within that Car.
